Damiani Ring Size Guide: EU, US and Italian Sizes
Guides
Choosing the right ring size is the one part of buying a Damiani ring that cannot be left to chance. Damiani, like most Italian jewellery houses, uses Italian sizes, while most buyers know their size in EU or US numbers. This guide explains how they relate and how to find yours.
- Damiani lists rings in Italian sizes. The EU size is the Italian size plus 40, so Italian 12 is EU 52.
- On LUX-A-PORTER every size is shown as EU and US, for example EU 52 | USA 6.
- Each Damiani ring is made only in certain sizes, and the price can change slightly with the size.
- Wide bands of 5 mm and more usually need one size up.
Italian, EU and US sizes
The EU size equals the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres. The Italian size is the same scale minus 40. US sizes follow a different system, so the table below shows the most common sizes side by side.
| Italian | EU, circumference mm | US |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 48 | 4 ½ |
| 10 | 50 | 5 ¼ |
| 12 | 52 | 6 |
| 14 | 54 | 7 |
| 16 | 56 | 7 ¾ |
| 18 | 58 | 8 ½ |
| 20 | 60 | 9 |
| 22 | 62 | 10 |
The full chart from EU 43 to EU 70 with inner diameters is in our ring size guide.
Which sizes each collection is made in
Damiani does not make every ring in every size, and the range depends on the model. A few examples from our catalogue show how much it varies.
| Ring | Sizes | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Veramore band | EU 45 to 68 | from 1,220 EUR |
| Belle Epoque | EU 50 to 63 | 8,590 EUR |
| D.Icon | EU 49 to 61 | 1,690 EUR |
| Mimosa | EU 51 to 55 | 3,190 EUR |
On every product page we list only the sizes Damiani actually makes for that ring, each with its own price. If your size is not listed, contact us and we will check with the Maison.
How to measure at home
Wrap a strip of paper no wider than 1 cm around the base of the finger you will wear the ring on and mark where it meets. Measure the length in millimetres. That number is your EU size. If you already have a ring that fits, measure its inner diameter and compare it with our chart.
Measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are neither hot nor cold, and check your knuckle too. If it is wider than the base of the finger, choose the next size up.
Wide rings
A wide band covers more of the finger and feels tighter than a thin one of the same size. For bands up to 4 mm keep your measured size, for 5 to 7 mm go one EU size up, and for 8 mm and wider one or two sizes up. Many D.Icon and Belle Epoque rings are wide, while most Veramore wedding bands are 2.5 to 3.5 mm.

Questions and answers
What size system does Damiani use?
Damiani lists its rings in Italian sizes. Add 40 to get the EU size, so Italian 12 is EU 52, which is about US 6.
Does the price depend on the size?
For some rings it does. Larger sizes use more gold, so Damiani sets a slightly higher price for them. We show the exact price for every size.
Can a Damiani ring be resized?
It depends on the design. Plain bands can usually be adjusted, while rings set with stones all around cannot. Ask us before ordering and we will check with Damiani.
What if I am between two sizes?
Choose the larger size, especially for a wide ring or if your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger.
